🚛 THE JOB
Drivers operate local intermodal routes moving containers between the Ayer/Worcester rail area and customers throughout the local operating region.
- Freight originates or terminates in Worcester or Ayer, MA
- Local operation within approximately 250 miles of Ayer
- Majority no-touch freight
- Weekend Wrap position
- 24/7 operation
- Truck remains at the Lancaster yard during scheduled time off
- Truck is shared with another driver
💰 PAY
- $1,500–$1,800 typical weekly earnings
- $84,000 average annual earnings
- $0.42–$0.47 per mile
- $56 stop pay
- $45 drop & hook pay
- $23–$36/hour detention
- Additional activity-based pay
- $10,000 limited-time bonus
Actual earnings vary based on miles, stops, activity, detention and applicable carrier pay policies.
🏠 HOME DAILY
This is a home-daily local position.
Drivers return to the Lancaster yard during scheduled time off. Because this is a 24/7 operation, the truck is shared with another driver.
No NYC driving.
📦 FREIGHT
- Intermodal container freight
- Majority no-touch
- Local rail-to-customer and customer-to-rail moves
- Some rail-yard experience preferred
✅ REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must meet applicable DOT and carrier qualification requirements
- Reliable attendance
- Safe driving history
- Ability to operate in a 24/7 local operation
- Uniforms required
- No riders
