Catering Assistant/Front of House – BM Caterers

Location: Marylebone Salary: £15.52 per hour Contract: 40hrs per week

We are looking for an energetic and friendly Catering Assistant / Front-of-House Team Member to join us at BM Caterers. In this role, you will be the face of our service, delivering exceptional customer care across our vibrant workplace restaurants, premium coffee bars, and corporate hospitality zones. Whether you are welcoming guests, serving fresh artisan food, or helping set up for evening hospitality, your passion for service will help create an uplifting experience for our clients every day.

Job Description

Overview

Support the preparation, service, and smooth running of catering operations, helping to deliver high-quality food and a well-organized service across daily meals and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, including basic food handling and portioning under guidance from chefs or kitchen staff
• Support service of meals, including counter service, buffet setup, and replenishment of food stations
• Help set up and break down catering areas for meetings, events, and functions
• Maintain cleanliness of service and dining areas, following daily and weekly cleaning schedules
• Wash, clean, and store equipment, utensils, and surfaces in line with hygiene standards
• Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and inventory checks
• Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues
• Follow all food safety, health and safety, and allergen procedures at all times
• Carry out other ad hoc duties as required; flexibility is essential, as tasks may vary day to day

Requirements

• Previous experience in catering, food service, or kitchen support is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided
• A Food Hygiene certificate is desirable
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to lift/move deliveries and equipment
• Flexible approach to shift patterns and tasks
• Friendly, professional manner with good attention to detail
