About this role
About the Role DiDi Global is seeking a Category Strategy & Operations Lead to own the category's plan, models, and execution across markets. You will build and maintain operating models, set targets, align with Finance, and lead cross-functional launches from strategy through delivery. What You'll Do
- Own the plan and the numbers; build the category's operational and financial models for new markets and live ones.
- Set targets and ramp plans; track plan vs actuals; flag inflections early and drive the reforecast.
- Serve as the category's single point of alignment with Finance and central operations teams so the business runs on one version of the truth.
- Drive the executive narrative and design the recurring business reviews and leadership updates.
- Own the operating rhythm; deliver crisp category narratives to regional and global leadership.
- Own the product agenda: consolidate product needs into a single prioritized roadmap; translate strategy into product requirements; interface with product org; sequence product investment against plan and unit economics.
- Incubate new use-case and business-innovation initiatives end to end: strategy, business case, pilot design, go/no-go.
- Run quarterly research loop turning market/competitor/user insights into concrete program changes.
- Lead cross-functional launches and new-market launches end to end: readiness criteria, cross-team workplan, launch gates, post-launch review.
- Align stakeholders across operations, marketing, finance, product, and legal; build the operating system; drive OKR alignment and the annual and quarterly planning cycles; lead internal tooling and AI adoption for the team. What We're Looking For
- 6+ years in strategy consulting, BizOps, corporate strategy, or strategy and planning roles; engagement-manager level or equivalent; experience in ride-hailing, marketplaces, or high-growth operations is a plus.
- You have owned a plan from framing through execution, not just analysis.
- Modeling depth to build a market P&L from scratch and defend every assumption to leadership.
- Strong working proficiency in SQL or demonstrated ability to get there fast; you pull your own numbers and design metrics that hold up.
- Executive communication at regional level: structured storytelling, crisp writing, and presence in the room where decisions get made.
- Spanish and English fluency required.
- Cross-functional leadership instinct: you have led projects with stakeholders senior to you and teams that do not report to you, working by influence.
- Range and a bias for action: you can switch between board-level narrative and detailed data debugging, navigate ambiguity, and drive roadmaps to completion without a perfect plan upfront. Nice to Have
- Experience with internal tooling and AI adoption; familiarity with product tooling and analytics platforms is a plus.
