About this role

Mondelēz International - Category Planning Executive, Chocolate

Who are we?

Mondelēz New Zealand has been distributing delicious snacks in Aotearoa for Kiwis to enjoy for more than 100 years. We are a global business with a local team who are the proud custodians of our iconic brands, including Cadbury, Pascall, Toblerone, The Natural Confectionery Company, Sour Patch, Philadelphia, OREO, Olina’s and Grenade.

At Mondelēz NZ our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re incredibly proud of our team – together we’re very good at what we do. We’re connected, collaborative and supportive.

Your development and career are a priority, and you’ll have the opportunity to build your career locally and globally if desired. Our world is fast-paced, but you’ll have a supportive environment in which to grow, with talented leaders who will empower you to achieve your potential.

The Opportunity

As Category Executive you will:

  • Manage all promotional programs, ensuring the Trade Promotions system is maintained accurately
  • Manage the customer portals for both Foodstuffs North and South Islands, ensuring the data meets the customers’ requirements at all times
  • Support the Account Manager with demand forecast and trade spend analysis, and any marketing or promotional support required
  • Analyse data from systems such as NielsenIQ and dunnhumby, identify opportunities to optimise promotional activity, and present recommendations
  • Manage customer claims effectively and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with your marketing, category, field sales and supply chain peers to ensure seamless execution of account plans and accurate forecasting
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders, through effective communication

This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours per week), based at our head office in Avondale, Auckland.

The ingredients you’ll bring

  • This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate with a business-related degree, who already has 1-2 years work experience in the industry, and is motivated to continue their career within FMCG
  • Experience within the NZ FMCG industry in a support office role on a major retailer account (Foodstuffs or Woolworths) is essential
  • Very strong excel skills and demonstratable experience with data analysis is essential; experience with NielsenIQ is ideal but not essential
  • Due to the nature of our business, with continuous innovation and marketing activations, ideally you will also have experience with a category such as confectionery, but this is not essential.

We will also be looking for candidates who can demonstrate: strong commercial acumen; strong communication skills with an ability to adapt your style as needed; the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively; and strong time management, planning and organisational skills.

Mondelēz is looking for outstanding individuals: our future leaders; people who combine the ability to learn with passion and curiosity. If you’re driven, enthusiastic and love working as part of a team in a fast, yet collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you!
