About the Role Cashier (Internal Applications Only) at Cashbuild in Thulamahashe, South Africa. The role focuses on accurate handling of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction and that goods are paid for before leaving the POS. What You'll Do
- Accurately handle all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that no goods/stock pass through POS without payment.
- Balance cash, floats, and petty cash; ensure no shorts or overs.
- Identify and capture goods correctly on the POS terminal; capture the correct payment type.
- Maintain sufficient change at all times; ensure pickups are done accurately and within set parameters.
- Perform end-of-shift cash-ups accurately; drop daily takings into the drop safe/vault.
- Process transactions related to other stores' money, deliveries, and quotes as required.
- Administration: sign, compile, and file all related documentation relating to the cashier function; Ready for Business adherence.
- Deliver fast, friendly, and efficient service to Cashbuild customers; direct customers to the relevant person; ensure dress code compliance.
- Safety (OHSA): comply with OHSA requirements to ensure customer and staff safety within area of responsibility; report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Security Awareness: ensure system password control at till point is adhered to; ensure cash safe keeping and transport to the cash office as per Cashbuild Way requirements.

- Grade 12 or minimum of 1 year work-related experience.
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographic area of the role.
- Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Strong administration skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work under pressure.
