Cashier

About the Role We are seeking a reliable Cashier to accurately handle all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and documentation, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction. Ensure that no goods/stock pass through the POS without it being paid for. The role also supports providing fast, friendly service in a retail environment. What You'll Do

• Handle all Point of Sale (POS) transactions accurately and document them to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure goods are correctly identified and captured on the POS terminal, and capture the correct payment type received from customers.
• Maintain sufficient change at all times, including float and petty cash.
• Ensure pick-ups are done accurately and within the set parameters.
• Perform end-of-shift cash-ups and drop takings into the Drop Safe / vault.
• Ensure that all transactions relating to other stores' money, deliveries, and quotes are processed correctly.
• Sign, compile, and file all related documentation relating to the Cashiers function.
• Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to all Cashbuild customers when checking in and out; direct customers to the relevant person who can assist.
• Adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond my Control as per the CB Way.
• Comply with dress code and OHSA safety requirements; promote safety of customers and staff in area of responsibility.
• Ensure security measures (e.g., system password control at till point) are adhered to, and cash is kept safely and transported to the cash office as per Cashbuild Way requirements. What We're Looking For
• Grade 12 or minimum of 1 year work-related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Strong administration skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
