About the Role Reporting to the Director of Case Management, the Case Manager oversees the implementation and monitoring of accommodations for faculty, staff, and students involved in the investigative processes. They also assist those who report incidents of misconduct but opt not to participate in an investigation. Collaboration with campus offices (Office of the General Counsel, Columbia University Human Resources, Deans of Students, the Title IX Coordinator, Counseling Services, EOAA and others) ensures effective support and compliance with applicable policies and laws. The University recently combined Title IX, Gender Based Misconduct, EOAA, and the Office of the Protection of Minors into one centralized office supervised by the Vice Provost for EOAA. What You'll Do

  • Provide information to faculty, staff, students, and affiliates.
  • Refer individuals to available resources for discrimination and harassment, retaliation, sex-based harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, domestic and dating violence, and prohibited relationships, and/or for those engaged in the investigative process.
  • Perform interviews to collect summaries of concerns and communicate possible courses of action, including University resources, investigative processes and law enforcement, where applicable.
  • Advise faculty, staff, and students on their rights under University policies.
  • Meet with faculty, staff, and students to assess needs and create a case management plan.
  • Collaborate with University partners to arrange academic, workplace and community accommodations.
  • Implement and monitor ongoing accommodations.
  • Refer faculty, staff, and students to appropriate confidential and non-confidential resources when necessary.
  • Document case information and updates, including interim measures, referrals and accommodations in student database.
  • Support the Administrative Resolution process including issuing no-contact directives, implementation of safety measures, referrals to counseling, and targeted education and training.
  • Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience in the areas of behavioral intervention, counseling, or support services.
  • Knowledge of complexities surrounding protected class discrimination and harassment, sexual misconduct, sex-based harassment, gender-related violence including stalking and intimate partner violence, in a university or college setting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills, strong written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, as well as the ability to exercise superior judgment and discretion.
  • The applicant must possess the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Nice to Have
  • Advanced degree preferred in higher education, student personnel administration, counseling, social work, psychology or related field.
  • Knowledge of complexities surrounding Title VI, VII and/or Title IX in a University or college setting.
  • Experience working in higher education highly preferred.
  • Experience with alternative resolutions that include conducting mediations and facilitated conversations. Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 USD per year.
