About the Role Stratolaunch is seeking a hands-on Carrier Aircraft Crew Chief (Boeing 777) to lead the Aircraft Maintenance Team in Mojave. The role focuses on maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, and alterations to keep the Boeing carrier aircraft in an airworthy condition and to support flight tests and program objectives. What You'll Do

  • Ensure the Boeing carrier aircraft is maintained in an airworthiness condition in accordance with Boeing AMM, SRM, LUMP inspection plans, and other technical data.
  • Travel OCONUS for durations up to 6 weeks, up to 3 times per year.
  • Provide daily updates to Ground Ops Manager on tasking completed, issues, and assist in schedule impact mitigations.
  • Take ownership of the aircraft and all quality of work performed.
  • Lead aircraft ground crew operations.
  • Support manufacturing and flight test activities based on schedule needs.
  • Monitor and determine program shop resource needs.
  • Support FAA activities as required.
  • Communicate vehicle status to Director of Operations, Flight OPS, Engineering, Flight Test Team members.
  • Ensure safety of team and aircraft during all ground operations.
  • Ensure the completion of vehicle maintenance, modifications, inspections, and overall readiness.
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance paperwork is completed; sign-off required forms to clear aircraft for flight.
  • Train team in proper maintenance and servicing techniques, standardized procedures, drawings, maintenance forms, and aircraft standards.
  • Identify quality issues and communicate with the Director of Operations, manufacturing and assembly; involve program and manufacturing leadership to resolve issues as required.
  • Monitor all work to ensure quality and airworthiness; ensure personnel are qualified and trained.
  • Conduct on-the-job training on aircraft systems and maintenance procedures (pre/post-flight inspections, flight controls, landing gear, electrical, avionics, propulsion). What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of transport category aircraft maintenance experience (Boeing 777 or widebody preferred).
  • Demonstrated work experience on Boeing widebody aircraft systems such as fuel, pneumatics, hydraulics, flight controls, engines, landing gear.
  • Bore scope qualified on Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, and/or GE engines.
  • Experience in large aircraft movements, safety, and procedures.
  • Completed Boeing Widebody General Familiarization course or training acquired through OJT.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations and airworthiness requirements.
  • Strong understanding of FOD control and tool control.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Jira.
  • Must possess valid U.S. passport.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Nice to Have
  • FAA IA or EASA certification.
  • Boeing Gen Fam with RII authorization.
  • Unrestricted engine run qualifications on Boeing or similar large jet aircraft.
  • Formal training on advanced systems/avionics on Boeing. Compensation & Benefits
  • $47.00-$75.00/hr, OT eligible.
  • Eligible for up to 10% annual bonus.
  • 4/10 work schedule.
  • Base salary and leveling are established on a case-by-case basis.
