Carpenter, Foreperson

About the Role Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreperson to lead on our projects, including the DOW FSP2Z project in Fort Saskatchewan and Calgary, Alberta. The role focuses on safe, high-quality carpentry work and team leadership to support Aecon’s zero-injury culture. What You'll Do

• Interpreting and applying information found in drawings, specifications
• Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with clients
• Respond to inquiries promptly and carry out work as required to satisfy client requests and project quality standards
• Assist maintenance in scheduling equipment preventative maintenance or repair
• Build a level of knowledge and understanding of safety practices, scheduling techniques, trade knowledge, and employee engagement
• Lead and mentor employees in safe work practice and knowledge
• Maintain regular communication with Supervisors and Project Managers regarding project progress, risks, and forecasts
• Undertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials)
• Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts
• Cutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue
• Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
• General carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety What We're Looking For
• CSTS-20 Certificate
• Experience as a Carpenter Foreperson in an industrial construction environment
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
• Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal Compensation & Benefits
• Rate: 49.38 + 6.00/hr (base rate + additionals) with overtime as per collective agreement
