About this role

About the Role The Career Coach is an essential support system for participants, empowering them to overcome obstacles and build a brighter future through employment and career advancement. This role provides tailored support and case management, helping participants access training, career counseling, and job placement opportunities. Targeted populations include Adult Workers, Dislocated Worker, and Youth. The position will temporarily operate from the Palmdale office until the Santa Clarita office opens. What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate participants’ skills, career interests, and employment barriers; guide participants through program enrollment; explain program benefits and resources; set clear expectations and goals.
  • Develop personalized individualized employment plans that outline career objectives, skill development needs, and steps for sustainable employment; identify training programs and job placement services aligned with participant goals; regularly review and update plans.
  • Provide ongoing case management and support to address challenges, monitor progress, and coordinate referrals to transportation, childcare, housing, and mental health resources.
  • Engage with employers and community organizations to identify job openings and expand placement opportunities; stay informed of local labor market trends.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and documentation per WIOA guidelines; track outcomes and prepare reports demonstrating program effectiveness and compliance.
  • Advocate for participants; offer resume building, interview preparation, and tailored career coaching; empower participants to navigate the job market.
  • Conduct outreach to recruit and inform potential participants; build relationships with schools, agencies, employers, and community groups. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Workforce Development, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in case management, workforce development, social services, or related area (preferred).
  • Knowledge of WIOA guidelines, workforce programs, and employment barriers faced by diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a supportive and empathetic approach.
  • Proficiency in case management software and data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to create and manage individualized service plans.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and supportive services; ability to work with diverse populations and handle confidential information.
  • Complete CWDP course and exam within 3 months of employment and secure CWDP certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends; willingness to travel to various locations as needed. Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $27 per hour (USD).
