About this role
Career Coach and Alumni & Employer Manager at Wheaton College oversee career development programming for students and young alumni. This full-time onsite role works within the Center for Vocation and Career (CVC) to design educational content, coach individuals, and build partnerships with employers and alumni.
What You'll Do
- Conduct one-on-one career coaching appointments and drop-in sessions for Wheaton College students and young alumni.
- Design career education content and deliver classroom presentations and short workshops aimed at current students.
- Identify job or internship opportunities in collaboration with the Associate Director and communicate those opportunities to students.
- Build and maintain a diverse network of Wheaton alumni and industry professionals to support students and the CVC.
- Collaborate with CVC teams and Ambassador program to supervise/train student staff and support career education events.
- Track engagement and outcomes to measure effectiveness of efforts and inform programming.
- Build partnerships with student groups and campus offices to foster a culture of career development.
- Serve as a thought leader to advance Wheaton’s career development culture and participate in broader initiatives.
- For Alumni & Employer Manager: identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, manage employer engagement, alumni networking, and program development.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of two years’ marketplace experience; experience with college-age students preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required (liberal arts background preferred).
- Experience developing programs for ethnically diverse students, First Generation students, and other underserved populations.
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and presentation skills; ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with faculty, employers, and alumni; strong relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated creativity, self-motivation, and ability to work collaboratively.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Handshake or similar career services platforms.
- Prior experience in a university career services setting or employer relations role.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $55,000-$59,000 per year.
- Onsite, full-time position at Wheaton College.
