About the Role ShareSTAFF provides malpractice insurance for this locum CT surgery assignment — you pay nothing, purchase nothing, and manage nothing. Malpractice is provided by ShareSTAFF at no cost to you. This is a 6-month independent-contractor engagement beginning October 2026 in Kansas, with an ongoing need as one surgeon retires. Full travel reimbursement (airfare, rental car, lodging, ride share) is included. The program features 5 APPs, a dedicated OR team, CVICU, and perfusionists in place. What You'll Do
- Perform full case mix: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, TCAR, thoracic, vascular, carotid, endovascular AAA.
- Inpatient: 4–6 patients per day; Clinic: 6–7 consults per day (minimum 1 day/week).
- Call: approximately 12 days per month (0700–0700); includes 1 weekend per month + weekday call.
- Collaborate with a team of surgeons, 5 APPs (NP/PA), perfusionists; dedicated OR and CVICU; EMR: Epic. What We're Looking For
- Active Kansas medical license (IMLC compact state — license required at start; candidates in process considered case-by-case).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Accredited CT Surgery residency/fellowship required.
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS; DEA registration.
- Adult cardiac surgery experience; thoracic and vascular experience preferred. Nice to Have

- Independent Contractor (1099): clinical rate $480–$540/hr; call $4,000–$4,400/day (~12 days/month); annual FTE equivalent: $955K–$1.17M.
- Malpractice provided by ShareSTAFF at no cost; no COI submission required.

- Minimum 2 weeks/month commitment; opportunity for more.
- Start: October 2026; 6-month assignment with ongoing need anticipated.
