About the Role Cardiac Sonographer provides non-invasive ultrasound scans of the heart to assist physicians in diagnosis; role located in Arlington Heights with potential to float to Kildeer. PRN hours and on-call responsibilities. What You'll Do
- Perform non-invasive ultrasound scans of the heart per NCH protocol including stress echos, dobutamine stress echos, transesophageal echos, and 2-D echo with color Doppler and spectral Doppler; operate stationary and portable units; maintain equipment and supplies.
- Disinfect equipment per guidelines; coordinate testing with other departments to promote throughput; respond to stat echocardiogram procedures, including on-call.
- Explain procedures to patients and families; assist with transfers; monitor patient condition; ensure safe patient handling and coverage.
- Document demographics into EMR, select study type (DSE, Stress, Complete, Limited); store images; transmit to reporting/archiving systems; formulate billing entries; schedule inpatients.
- Administer Image Enhancing Agent as allowed; troubleshoot equipment; oversee logs and training of technologists.
- Maintain area cleanliness; inventory and order supplies; participate in on-call rotations; pursue professional development. What We're Looking For
- Education: Current registration in Cardiac Sonographer/Echo (RDCS, RCS) or registry eligible.
- Certification: Current CPR.
- Experience: Cardiac experience; neonates/pediatrics preferred. Nice to Have
- Experience with LV enhancement imaging and image enhancing agent administration.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-department coordination. Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $33.35 - $51.69 USD per hour.
