Job title: Cardiac Sonographer
About the Role The Cardiac Sonographer performs a variety of cardiac ultrasound examinations within the scope of Logan Health policies and procedures in Shelby Radiology on a PRN/on-site basis. This role supports the department by delivering high-quality imaging and patient care during assigned shifts.
What You'll Do
- Accurately and efficiently perform cardiac echocardiogram procedures as outlined by department procedures and exam protocols.
- Obtain patient history, describe and respond to questions, and inform the patient of when to expect results as applicable to the assigned area.
- Participate in and coordinate patient care and flow. Provide for physical and psychological needs of patient during examination.
- Provide images, data analysis and patient comments to the Cardiologist for diagnostic interpretation.
- Maintain understanding of current exam protocols and comply with technologist competency and quality control standards.
- Assist with maintaining and ordering supply stock as directed; maintain equipment and coordinate repairs and service as needed.
- Assist with administrative duties as applicable to the assigned area.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
- Note: Some duties may be assigned outside the core scope consistent with knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
What We're Looking For
- ARDMS in Adult Echocardiography Registration (or board eligible with ARDMS registry to be obtained within six months of hire).
- Current CPR as applicable to assigned area(s).
- Comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Sonography preferred; equivalent education and substantial direct experience will be considered.
- Minimum of one (1) year adult echocardiography experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in all cardiac echo procedures preferred.
- For Driver portion: Current Driver’s License; driving record for the previous 36 months must not reflect major offenses; state minimum liability coverage required.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to set priorities and work as part of a team or independently.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences; strong verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
