Job title: Capital Project Construction Manager (A00719)
About the Role The Capital Project Construction Manager will coordinate, schedule and oversee campus capital project construction activities and project-based budgeting for Mercy University's Operations and Facilities Division. The role requires extensive project management expertise, knowledge of building systems and site work, and the ability to integrate with facilities operations and external agencies to support capital projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead in effectively managing, coordinating, implementing and controlling the construction process relating to campus capital project activities.
- Develop and implement methods to coordinate campus-wide construction activities, schedules, budgets, and quality controls; minimize campus disruption.
- Review consultants' work, read and interpret drawings and specifications, and coordinate with internal departments and external agencies.
- Manage budgets, tracking, encumbrances, expenditures using Mercy Banner system and Excel; perform fiscal management of capital activities.
- Conduct on-site observations, supervise construction, coordinate meetings, and prepare reports; ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and quality standards.
- Resolve complex problems through independent investigations and develop technical reports and data to support design and construction.
- Ensure code compliance, liaise with code enforcement agencies, and assist with contract documentation and closeout activities.
- Build positive professional relationships with project agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support administrative and project management duties for daily capital activity in Operations & Facilities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction technology or related field, and two years of full-time project management experience in institutional/commercial construction OR eight years of related professional experience with training/certification and higher education familiarity.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of building codes is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $98,000 - $124,000 per year for a full-time position.
