About the Role The Web Dev / UI software engineering internship is a 10-week, on-site program in Chicago designed to identify top young software engineers for Jump's core development team. You will use TypeScript, Python, and modern web frameworks to build Web-based applications that interact with components of Jump's real-time trading platform. This program is a proven path to earning full-time or return internship opportunities at Jump.

What You'll Do

• Work on production code and build Web-based applications using advanced TypeScript, Python, and modern Web frameworks that interact with components of Jump's real-time trading platform.
• Gain experience with our full-cycle development process for development, testing, and release using Agile methodologies.
• Contribute on projects in production code and gain exposure to Jump's core development team in Chicago.

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience and proficiency in Web development using Python and TypeScript.
• Python development on Linux.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and threading models.
• Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment, deploying new software daily.
• Passion for solving complex problems and building optimal solutions from scratch.
• Interest in applying knowledge across hardware, networking, OS design to produce extremely high-performance software.
• Reliable and predictable availability.
• No finance or economics study or work experience required.

Nice to Have

• Comfort in React.
• Claude code in a real work environment.
• Past internship or job experience in a software development role is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: USD 250,000 per year.
• International students eligible for CPT/OPT; Jump sponsors work visas for full-time positions.
