About the Role
This role supports the Campus Safety Department's mission by performing routine security duties on Montreat College's main campus during the evenings. It is a 10-month, part-time assignment (approximately 20+ hours per week) with no benefits.
What You'll Do
- Handle calls for assistance and provide professional, tactful responses.
- Open and close campus buildings.
- Regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic as needed.
- Patrol facilities regularly, including walking through buildings as part of a community policing model.
- Assist with security at special events (athletics, homecoming, dances, graduation).
- Maintain daily logs with detailed dispositions of actions in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Safety and/or Vice President of Student Life.
- What We're Looking For
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Professional appearance and ability to relate to people in a courteous, professional manner.
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
- Security and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college coursework preferred.
- Criminal Justice student or related experience preferred.
- Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with Montreat College vision, statement of faith, and community life covenant.

- Supervisory experience (as noted) and any related security certifications or training.
- Compensation & Benefits
- 20+ hours per week for approximately 10 months (Aug 1 through mid-May). Non-benefited (.5 FTE).
