About the Role
Schreiner University's Campus Recreation department is seeking a Campus Rec Staff Level 1 to support game-day activities, safety, and gym operations as part of the Work Study program. This role assists with running intramural activities, ensures safety and fair play, and supports daily gym operations.
What You'll Do
- Set up/clean up game space
- Referee games fairly and enforce rules
- Check in players on Pounce and clearly explain game rules
- Arrive in full uniform with whistle and appropriate colored shirt
- Supervise game space to ensure safety and fair play
- Minimize and terminate unsportsmanlike conduct
- Complete daily task list and initial tasks
- Work with all level Managers for the department
- Assist in gym events
- Assist in spotting gym patrons
- Assist with record boards
- Supervise gym safety/atmosphere
- Monitor the area to ensure rules are followed
- Manage team setup and ensure players are prepared
- Enforce dress code and gym safety
- Ensure the game is played accurately and fairly
- Be punctual for each shift
- Record and report scores to Managers
- Manage record-keeping duties to ensure materials reach the right person
- Oversee gym operations including equipment, cleanliness, events, and overall gym health
- Ensure laundry is done and folded
- Ensure clean, appropriate music is played in the gym
