About the Role Join Jump Trading Group's Core Development team as a Campus FPGA Engineer (Intern) in London. You will contribute to building next-generation, ultra-low-latency trading systems, applying machine learning and real-time acceleration at global scale. This internship offers hands-on hardware/software exposure with mentorship from seasoned engineers in a world-class research environment. What You'll Do
- Work on designing and implementing FPGA-based acceleration for trading infrastructure and research projects.
- Collaborate with a small team of engineers with backgrounds in FPGAs, semiconductors, and networking.
- Tackle complex problems around networking, high-performance computing, and real-time acceleration beyond off-the-shelf hardware.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed. What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate or Graduate concentration in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related areas.
- Experience with FPGA or other hardware/systems design and development.
- Experience with RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL).
- Previous internship experience in hardware or low-level software engineering.
- Experience with C, C++, or Python.
- Passion for solving complex problems and ability to draw upon knowledge across technical areas to produce high-performance solutions.
- Reliable and predictable availability. Nice to Have
- Claude Code, CocoTB, HLS or OpenCL experience.
- Any programming close to the metal with CPU, GPU, microprocessors, etc.
- Linux kernel and driver programming.
- Robotics, Telecommunications, or High Speed Networking.
- Raspberry Pi or Arduino.
- Excellent marks in courses such as computer architecture, digital design, design verification. Compensation & Benefits
