Job title: Camera Operator
About the Role The Fitzwater Center is seeking eight student Camera Operators to cover home games for fall teams (Field Hockey, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, and Football). Operators will be assigned to a specific team and will handle equipment pickup, testing on Flo-Sport one hour before show time, in-game operation, teardown, inventory, and return or handoff of gear to the next livestream.
What You'll Do
- Attend training at the start of the season.
- Attend weekly production meetings on Fridays at 8 am.
- Be on call for unexpected vacancies.
- Pick up equipment from the Fitzwater Center and set it up for Flo-Sport testing one hour before show time.
- Operate cameras during the game.
- Tear down equipment and take inventory after games.
- Return equipment to the Fitzwater Center or pass it to the next livestream.
- Football operators should expect to spend the entire day in production.
- May be required to drive a van or shuttle for RSN to transport equipment and/or students/staff.
What We're Looking For
- Interest in joining a campus broadcast team as a Camera Operator for home games.
- Availability for the fall season; eight positions; teams include Field Hockey, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, and Football.
- Football operators should have at least one semester of camera operator experience.
- Training at the start of the season and ongoing professional development.
- Willingness to be on call for unexpected vacancies.
- Ability to drive a van or shuttle to transport equipment and/or people.
- Students with Federal Work Study are encouraged to apply.
