About the Role Villanova University Athletics is seeking a Camera Operator (Athletics Control Room) to support game productions as a freelancer. The role involves setting up, operating, and breaking down camera equipment under direction of the Game Director, Marketing/Operations staff, and the Athletics Building Engineer, ensuring compliance with department and venue policies.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with Game Director and Building Engineer to test and manage all camera elements and shots associated with the game script
- Select, assemble and position equipment (cameras, stands) throughout the venue
- Shoot scenes according to game script requirements at the direction of the Game Director
- Capture quality footage from a fixed or moving position, travel to different locations depending on assignments
- Maintain, clean and test all equipment to ensure every tool is in good working order each day before event starts
- Participate in pre-event coordination planning meetings
- Be familiar with the language of event production and have a working knowledge of all current technology
- Ensure the safety of equipment at all times
- Respect standards and regulations regarding the safety of audio equipment, and apply safe work methods
- Provide support and assistance to other venue areas as needed
- Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of related camera operations
- Familiarity with event production language and current technology
- Ability to test, assemble and operate camera equipment and maintain gear
- Willingness to travel to different locations as needed
