About the Role Astra seeks a versatile California Certified Electrician to join our Alameda facilities team as the primary technical lead for internal electrical projects and a hands-on contributor to facility builds and maintenance. This role covers low, medium, and high voltage systems, and requires ensuring NEC/CA safety compliance in a fast-paced startup environment. What You'll Do
- Lead installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems across all voltages (Low, Medium, and High Voltage)
- Execute electrical service upgrades, conduit assembly, and wiring for new equipment and expanded facility needs
- Maintain and repair switchgear, UPS backup systems, standby generators, and building grounding systems
- Ensure all work meets NEC and California Division of Industrial Safety standards
- Perform non-electrical facilities tasks (HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical structures like cranes, roll-up doors, and man-lifts)
- Support internal build projects, including basic rigging, assembly of structures, and operation of heavy equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts)
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency outages and urgent mission-critical repairs What We're Looking For
- California Journeyman Electrician Certification (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in industrial or commercial electrical wiring, maintenance, and repair
- Experience with 480/277V and 208/120V; high-voltage (600V+) distribution highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs unassisted, work at heights up to 50+ feet, and operate in confined spaces
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR/EAR regulations
- Willingness to participate in on-call emergency response Nice to Have
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and building automation systems
- Prior experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or high-performance laboratory environments

- Pay range: $41.37 - $55.16 per hour (USD)
