A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Buyer - Reporting & Order Management Specialist at Siemens Energy within Grid Transmission Solutions, you will report to the Head of Procurement and act as the procurement partner with specific focus on Supplier Onboarding, Order management, Reporting and Controlling. This role requires proactive engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, project management, engineering and commercial etc.

You will be responsible for developing and executing procurement activities across the UK business, ensuring alignment with project timelines; budgets and quality standards.

A typical day may include:

Prioritizing procurement activities based on project needs and stakeholder input

Order management of awards including Purchase Order Placement, acknowledgement

Supplier On Boarding and Supplier Quality Management Planning

Reporting and Controlling across key Procurement Metrics

Process Optimisation

This is a dynamic role that demands strong IT Skills, commercial acumen, stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive value through strategic initiatives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Manage key controlling and reporting activities against key deliverables, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across projects.

  • Ensure procurement processes are understood and effectively implemented throughout the bid and project execution phases.
  • Ensure timely and proactive engagement and onboarding of new suppliers, while preparing the required base data for the annual Supplier Quality Management assessment.
  • Effectively manage a high volume of purchase order activities and negotiate allocated purchasing activities across multiple projects.
  • Actively foster a high-performance culture by participating in and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure high standards are maintained across the function through adherence to agreed processes, procedures and approved tools.

What You Bring

  • A high-performance mindset with a passion for procurement and minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to define and execute sourcing strategies
  • Good understanding of commercial terms and risks with experience reviewing; negotiating and drafting supplier contracts (with support from commercial/legal teams)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate proactive approach to risk management
