About the Role Silvus Technologies, a leading provider of advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems, is seeking a Buyer to own end-to-end material planning and purchasing to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time delivery. This hybrid role is based in Culver City, CA and reports to the Supply Chain Manager. What You'll Do
- Take full ownership of the procurement process from demand planning through PO execution and post-delivery follow-through.
- Analyze material requirements to support production, inventory, and forecasts; ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Create and manage purchase requisitions and POs, ensuring pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules accuracy.
- Monitor and expedite open orders to secure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Shipping to resolve material shortages.
- Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations on pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, and service levels.
- Track supplier performance and proactively resolve delivery, quality, and supply-chain issues; escalate critical concerns as needed.
- Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, invoices, returns, and non-conforming materials.
- Maintain procurement records, ERP/MRP data, and inventory parameters.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements; support new product introductions by sourcing components.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Physics or related field, OR 3+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain/Operations in manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment.
- Production scheduling experience.
- Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident).
- Background check and drug test required. Nice to Have
- Knowledge of BOM structures, MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing planning processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
