Role Overview

A Buyer with 10 to 15 years of experience is sought to lead and manage the procurement function within an organization. This role involves overseeing the entire procurement process, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management, to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the organization's goals, budget, and operational needs.

  • Lead the strategic sourcing process, including identifying potential suppliers, conducting market research, and evaluating supplier capabilities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, monitor their performance, and collaborate to improve quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

  • Supervise and mentor procurement staff, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to foster a high-performance team.

  • Oversee the creation and management of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs through cost analysis and process optimization.

  • Stay current on market trends, industry developments, and pricing fluctuations to make informed procurement decisions.

  • Collaborate with other departments to manage inventory levels and maintain efficient supply chain operations.

  • Manage supplier contracts, including renewals, modifications, and compliance.

  • Oversee quality assurance efforts to ensure purchased products or services meet established standards.

  • Promote sustainability and responsible sourcing by considering environmental and ethical factors.

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and internal procurement policies.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for procurement activities.

  • Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Experience: 10 to 15 years in procurement or related roles, with a track record of progressively responsible positions in procurement management.

Skills

  • Proficiency in procurement software, tools, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).

  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities for data-driven decision-making.

  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and inventory control.

  • Proficiency in legal and ethical issues related to procurement, including sustainability and responsible sourcing.

  • A proven track record of cost analysis, budget management, and procurement process optimization.
