About the Role

As Business Unit Controller (m/w/d), you will be responsible for the financial steering of the Business Unit and act as sparring partner for management and for the functions. You will drive the development of the Controlling organization and the standardization of processes across multiple sites.

What You'll Do

  • Business Partnering & Performance Management: support management in strategic and operational decisions through analyses, evaluations, presentations and decision papers.
  • Analyze the business and earnings development and derive cost- and revenue-optimization measures.
  • Create and further develop KPI-based controlling instruments and management reporting.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): budget, forecast and mid-term planning for the Business Unit.
  • Conduct variance, scenario and profitability analyses to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Ensure transparent and robust financial control.
  • Product, project and business-case costing: profitability analyses and support for bids, pricing and investment decisions.
  • Further develop costing and cost accounting models.
  • Controlling Governance & Leadership: lead and develop controlling teams at three sites; define and implement standards, processes and structures; harmonize planning, forecast, reporting and costing; promote cross-site collaboration.
  • Controlling Excellence & Digitization: optimize and standardize controlling processes, methods and systems; advance reporting, BI and ERP solutions to increase transparency and efficiency; support month, quarter and year-end IFRS closes.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience in BU Controlling, FP&A or Financial Controlling, ideally in an international industrial environment.
  • Solid knowledge in product and project controlling and corporate governance.
  • Experience in leading and coordinating cross-site Controlling organizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset; entrepreneurial thinking, initiative and results orientation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and confident demeanor at management level.
  • Proficiency with ERP-, BI- and reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Power BI).
  • Very good German and English skills.
