About the Role PGIM Front Office Investment Solutions is seeking a highly analytical Business Systems Analyst to help evolve Peregrine, the front-office investment platform, and Merlin, an AI-enabled ecosystem. You will collaborate with Credit Research, Portfolio Management, Quantitative Solutions, ESG, and Client teams to deliver AI-powered workflows and modern cloud-native capabilities that transform investment processes. This role blends business analysis with advanced technology to support front-office decision making in a hybrid Newark, NJ environment.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with investment professionals, product owners, designers, and engineering teams to deliver modern front-office investment solutions
- Shape and enhance AI-powered workflows across research, portfolio management, analytics, and client solutions
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user journeys, workflows, and functional specifications
- Translate complex investment and operational processes into scalable technology solutions
- Drive discovery sessions, process reviews, and solution workshops with stakeholders across the business
- Support the evolution of Peregrine and Merlin capabilities, including AI-assisted research workflows, intelligent search, summarization, analytics, and workflow automation
- Work with structured and unstructured investment data (research, holdings, exposures, market data, portfolio analytics)
- Collaborate with engineering in Agile delivery environments to prioritize work, refine requirements, and support sprint execution
- Create process flows, data mappings, and gap analyses for current and future-state workflows
- Define user acceptance testing strategies and support successful product rollouts and adoption
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and improved investment insights
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of business analysis experience at a buy-side Fixed Income firm, supporting front-office teams such as Credit Research, Portfolio Management, Risk, and Quantitative Strategies
- Strong experience across major Fixed Income instruments: Treasuries, Investment Grade, High Yield, EMD, Mortgages, Sovereign/Government and Corporate Bonds, OTC derivatives, and Repos
- Working knowledge of data governance with ability to maintain high data quality throughout the project lifecycle
- Proficient in SQL (queries, stored procedures); experience with BI reporting tools and relational databases
- Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend practical improvements that drive better outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and solution development
- Ability to help end users adopt and maximize new systems across teams
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure with strong organizational skills
- Experience using application lifecycle management tools such as Jira and Confluence
