What’s the role about?

We’re looking for a Business Systems Analyst who can bridge the gap between business needs and technology. Combining strong business and process analysis with technical systems expertise, you’ll help deliver strategic transformation across our New Zealand Automotive business.

Working within the Delivery Team, the role turns business, product, operational and technical needs into clear requirements, system behaviours, business rules, data and integration requirements, and acceptance criteria.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity supporting a transformation project, based in our central Auckland offices on a hybrid work basis.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will look like:

• Analyse business, product and operational processes to understand requirements and help shape simpler, effective future-state solutions.
• Translate business needs into clear system requirements, business rules, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Analyse systems, APIs, integrations and data flows, using technical knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, JSON Schema, SQL and data models.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborate across Product, Operations, Finance, Architecture, Engineering and QA to align business needs with technical solutions.
• Support delivery through requirements traceability, defect analysis and implementation, ensuring solutions remain aligned to agreed business outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, data quality, controls and ways of working.

About you

• Ideally 5+ years strong Business Systems Analysis experience within complex technology, platform or transformation environments.
• Ability to translate business, process and technical needs into clear requirements, business rules, system behaviours and acceptance criteria.
• Strong process analysis and workshop facilitation skills, with experience identifying gaps, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Working technical knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, JSON Schema, SQL, data models, integrations and data mapping.
• Experience supporting testing and defect analysis, tracing outcomes back to requirements and data rules.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills, with experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Lucidchart or Visio.
• A practical, organised and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams.

Desirable

• Strong preference for experience in finance, insurance, fintech or similarly regulated digital product environments
• Exposure and/or experience to AI-enabled ways of working
• Exposure to platform modernisation, transformation or complex integration programs.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments across Product, Architecture, Engineering, QA and business teams.
• Relevant business analysis, product ownership or Agile certification.
