The Business Operations Director (BOD) Europe is a senior operational leadership role responsible for leading, coordinating, and continuously improving the business operations infrastructure that supports Deployment Solutions (DS) Europe. The role acts as a central operational partner to project leadership, field teams, commercial stakeholders, and enabling functions, ensuring that client engagements are implemented efficiently, compliantly, and consistently across European markets.

The BOD Europe provides leadership across project implementation, operating processes, stakeholder coordination, reporting discipline, business services, and issue resolution.

The role could potentially be based anywhere in Europe.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Strategy and Execution: Lead the operational planning and execution of Deployment Solutions Europe projects, ensuring that delivery models, timelines, resources, processes, and governance are clearly defined and aligned with client and internal business objectives.

Project Implementation and Launch Readiness: Direct key implementation activities including project initiation, requirements gathering, project scheduling, issue and risk management, testing, training, deployment, transition to steady-state operations, and closure activities.

Business Services Coordination: Coordinate the internal services required to support field forces and client projects, including HR, recruitment, finance, compliance, legal, analytics, CRM, IT, learning and development, fleet, payroll, expense management, and other relevant operational functions.

Process Optimization and Standardization: Identify operational inefficiencies, friction points, and cross-functional bottlenecks. Lead the development of standardized processes, guidelines, and operating solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, scalability, and quality across European operations.

Client and Stakeholder Management: Act as an operational liaison between clients, project leads, business development, senior leadership, and internal support teams. Ensure expectations are clearly defined, communicated, and met throughout the project lifecycle.

Financial and Administrative Oversight: Support project financial discipline, including budget monitoring, supplier invoices, expenses, credit notes, pass-through costs, contractual service levels, and operational cost control in partnership with finance and project leadership.

Technology and Systems Enablement: Oversee the operational use of CRM, reporting, field automation, expense, travel, learning, and other enabling systems. Partner with technical teams to ensure tools are configured, tested, adopted, and used effectively by field and operational teams.

Essential Requirements
-
BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Proven experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or commercial outsourcing industry.

Proven experience in business operations, project delivery, client services, commercial operations, field operations, or operational management.

Proven experience leading complex, multi-country, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed international environment.

Experience with CRM, field automation, reporting and analytics, project management tools, and business support systems; Veeva or Salesforce.com experience preferred.

Strong client-facing, stakeholder management, presentation, and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint, with working knowledge of Copilot for Microsoft 365 and / or any other relevant AI platforms.

Fluent or native-level English is required; proficiency in a second European language is desirable (preferably German and/ or French).
