Your opportunity:

Working with a dynamic team of 10 distinct and active program and service areas, you will manage the day-to-day financial and administrative operations by providing support to the Assistant Dean, Co-Curricular Engagement and Student Leadership and to the two Directors (Director, Student Engagement & Campus Life and Director, Community Engagement & International Student Experience). This encompasses managing the financial resources of the operations and providing exceptional financial, budget and administrative management, including reporting, database support and guidance regarding the compliance of policies, procedures and best practices. In addition, you will identify and anticipate the financial and operational needs of the unit and will provide well-informed recommendations for consideration to the Assistant Dean and Directors.

This role requires excellent organization as it will be processing a large amount of expense reimbursements, invoices and will provide payroll support for work-study students.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Forecasting, planning and monitoring multiple complex budgets
- Making recommendations on budget allocations involving multiple sources of revenue and/or recoveries
- Analyzing financial trends and preparing analytical reports and forecasts for management decision making
- Monitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations
- Implementing plans and process improvements for financial administration activities
- Producing complex statistical and/or financial reports (e.g. forecasting, budget variance reports)
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Developing and maintaining procedures for the use of space and equipment
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, with a specialization in finance or accounting and working towards a professional accounting designation or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum four years of financial and administrative management experience, including experience with budget preparation and maintenance, forecasting, and analysis, monthly statement reconciliation, financial reporting/reports generation
- Demonstrated experience analyzing data, developing recommendations, writing reports and managing systems
- Must have well-developed accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial and administrative management skills
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), database systems, and internet research
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
- Ability to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, sound judgement and tact and confidentiality
- Must have excellent customer service, organizational and planning skills, attention to detail
- Must be able to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
Assets (Nonessential):
- Financial and administrative management experience in a fast-paced post-secondary student affairs/services department
- Experience with SAP Administrative Management Systems (e.g. FIS, HRIS)
