Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland (On-site)

Role Overview

This senior-level role requires a candidate who can bridge the gap between complex operational requirements and advanced data architecture. The position will focus on architecting and building MAVEN capabilities to drive a Common Operational Picture (COP) and integrating those tools with ongoing knowledge and portal management strategies. A successful candidate will be a technical data integrator and view-builder who can map complex data structures to construct dynamic operational dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a MAVEN Architecture and Mission Integration Subject Matter Expert.

  • Architect, design, and lead the development of operational dashboards and mission views within the MAVEN Smart System ecosystem.

  • Serve as the principal liaison to stakeholders, translating enterprise-level mission requirements into technical workflows, data models, and visualizations.

  • Design and oversee the integration of multi-source data, mapping complex data structures (APIs, SQL, JSON) to power front-end visualizations.

  • Integrate data from analytics platforms, sensor feeds, and machine learning outputs into operational workflows.

  • Develop, curate, and champion new use cases for the MAVEN Smart System (MSS).

  • Provide technical leadership within an agile development team, participating in technical interchange meetings, architectural reviews, and sprint planning.

  • Drive continuous service improvement initiatives for knowledge management, configuration management, and enterprise portal operations.

  • Architect integration strategies to ensure derived insights are incorporated into enterprise collaboration portals and team tools (e.g., SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira).

  • Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant professional experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant professional experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience architecting and building interactive dashboards, operational views, and geospatial analytics using GUI-based data platforms (e.g., Palantir MAVEN/Foundry, Kibana, Splunk, or Tableau).

  • Expertise in mapping complex data structures (SQL, XML, JSON) and leveraging APIs (REST/SOAP).

  • Proficiency in building user-facing applications and operational views that support real-time decision-making.

  • Experience supporting Agile software development environments.

  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-level knowledge management portals.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting high-echelon operational environments.

  • Relevant certifications or formal training in GUI-based data analytics and dashboard platforms (e.g., Splunk Core Certified Power User, Tableau Certified Data Analyst, Elastic/Kibana training, or Palantir Foundry/Maven bootcamps).

  • Certifications or experience supporting Portal and Knowledge Management, such as ITIL v4 Foundation or Knowledge Management Institute (KMI) certifications.

  • Familiarity with integrating views into Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) or ServiceNow ecosystems.

  • Advanced certifications in Agile Methodologies (e.g., SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Professional) or Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
