About this role

Job title: Business Information Security Officer for Commodities and Global Markets

Macquarie Group

Our Cybersecurity Leadership team works closely with business, technology and risk leaders across our global organisation to enable secure business outcomes, drive transformation and embed strong cybersecurity practices. Our team supports strategic growth and innovation by aligning cyber strategy, investment and delivery with the priorities of Commodities and Global Markets and the broader organisation.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

What role will you play?

As the Business Information Security Officer for Commodities and Global Markets, you will act as the security executive for the business, setting its cyber direction, anticipating the threats that matter and mobilising teams to deliver priority security outcomes.

You will build trusted relationships with senior leaders globally, maintain the business cybersecurity strategy and roadmap, guide investment towards areas of greatest business value and risk reduction, and provide clear insight on security posture, emerging threats and cyber risk. As a member of the Cyber Leadership team, you will also help guide the direction and priorities of our Cyber organisation in support of the Chief Information Security Officer.

You will also hold defined cybersecurity leadership responsibilities across the Asia-Pacific region and our Central Service Groups, helping the business navigate emerging technologies, major transactions, new products, strategic partnerships and regulatory engagement while enabling secure innovation and growth.

What you offer

  • Significant leadership experience in cybersecurity, technology risk or a closely related discipline within a complex global organisation, with the ability to lead through influence and mobilise teams beyond your direct authority
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading environments or similarly complex and technology-intensive businesses, with the ability to understand how business models, products and technology create cybersecurity exposure
  • Deep understanding of modern cyber threats and security disciplines, with the ability to translate technical exposure, threat intelligence and control effectiveness into clear business risks, priorities and actions
  • Proven experience developing cybersecurity strategy and turning it into delivery and measurable outcomes, combined with strong commercial judgement and the ability to make pragmatic, risk-based decisions where priorities compete or uncertainty exists
  • Credibility with senior executives and the ability to constructively challenge, influence and build alignment across regions, cultures and time zones, alongside curiosity about technology, markets, emerging threats and how these change cyber risk.

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
