The Business Development Manager (Melbourne North/West, plus regional area ACT as part of the territory) is mainly responsible for driving Alcon revenues in Optical stores by partnering with key decision makers (Business owners, Store Managers, Eye Care Practitioners). BDM promotes Alcon portfolio from clinical and commercial perspectives and establishes strategic relationships to increase CL penetration in the practice, positioning Alcon as the global market leader. BDM also delivers commercial solutions by leveraging the tools provided by the organization.

Key responsibilities include increasing sales by achieving annual territory sales objectives through selling Alcon’s vision care portfolio, promoting Alcon Services, offering approved price discounts through in-market promotions, and consulting with Eye Care Practitioners to improve the profitability of their practices; growing sales by encouraging customers to dispense Alcon priority products as their core first-choice product line; agreeing and executing interaction plans for customers, targeting the right person with the right message, content, and frequency; participating in and networking with customers at conventions, educational events, etc.; seeking ways to improve patient experience and satisfaction (for example direct CL delivery); handling administrative duties such as expense reports, email and voicemail communications, call reporting, event planning and strategic planning, and allocating resources effectively (such as sampling and marketing material); collaborating with other Alcon stakeholders and resources in Sales and across other functions (for example KAM, Marketing) to achieve sales targets; providing insights and feedback from customer interactions to Alcon stakeholders and colleagues; adhering to Integrity and Compliance policies and all company policies and encouraging others to do the same; presenting a positive attitude and leadership to foster a high performing culture; actively participating in all team meetings, conference calls, trainings, and sales meetings; travel may be required to ACT, Tasmania and other regional locations.

Education: Tertiary level education preferable

Skills/Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales with a demonstrated drive for achieving results; HealthCare industry sales background preferred
