About the Role

  • We are seeking a result-driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing team in Agbara.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, generating leads, and converting prospects into signed deals within the engineering and manufacturing industry.
  • The ideal candidate should have proven experience in sales or business development, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to develop strategies that contribute directly to business growth and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify new customer segments, business opportunities, and potential territories.

  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new clients through cold outreach, networking,referrals, industry events, and other business development channels.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, key decision-makers, and industry stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.

  • Identify opportunities for market expansion and develop plans for entering new markets.

  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, quotations, and business pitches to prospective clients.

  • Manage the sales process from initial contact and lead qualification through negotiation and deal closure.

  • Negotiate with prospective clients and convert qualified leads into signed business agreements.

  • Work closely with the marketing and product teams to ensure sales pitches and proposals accurately communicate the company's products and services.

  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects and follow up consistently to maximize conversion opportunities.

  • Keep accurate records of leads, prospects, client interactions, and sales activities using CRM systems and other relevant tools.

  • Monitor business development performance and provide regular updates on sales activities, opportunities, and results.

  • Stay informed about developments within the engineering and manufacturing sectors to identify emerging opportunities.

  • Represent the company professionally when engaging with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.

  • Key Performance Expectations

  • The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Generate and qualify new business leads.

  • Build a healthy and consistent sales pipeline.

  • Develop new client relationships and business opportunities.

  • Meet agreed sales and revenue targets.

  • Convert qualified prospects into paying clients.

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

  • Contribute to the company's market expansion and overall business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in Sales or Business Development.
  • Previous experience within the engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related sector will be an advantage.
  • Must reside in Agbara for ease of movement and accessibility to the workplace.
  • Strong ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and persuasive pitches.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and deal-closing skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in relevant office productivity tools.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, meet targets, and remain resilient under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, commercially aware, and results-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
