Based in Lagos, the role involves developing distributors and project clients, managing key accounts, and supporting import compliance and cross-border sales.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Sales Specialist based in Lagos to promote and sell construction materials and concrete admixtures (specifically water-reducing agents and mortar/grouting materials) in the Nigerian market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing local distributors and expanding the client base within the engineering and construction sectors. You will maintain long-term client relationships and manage the entire sales process, from initial inquiry to order delivery and after-sales service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish partnerships with distributors, contractors, ready-mix concrete plants, precast concrete manufacturers, construction companies, and building material traders. Conduct regular field visits to identify medium-to-large-scale projects across Nigeria. Develop potential clients and independently handle inquiries, quotations, commercial negotiations, sample distribution, contract signing, order tracking, payment collection, and after-sales support. Build and maintain solid, long-term relationships with key clients and channel partners.
  • Monitor market prices, competitor brands, customer needs, payment terms, and industry trends. Identify and promptly report potential payment, fraud, and operational risks. Participate in offline marketing, industry exhibitions, and other promotional activities. Collaborate effectively across time zones with the headquarters in China.
  • Submit regular reports on market conditions, competitor activities, customer needs, sales progress, and potential risks.

Requirements

  • Local residents of Nigeria preferred. Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Background in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Inorganic Non-metallic Materials, or Polymer Materials is preferred. Familiarity with major building material markets and sales channels in Nigeria.

  • Ability to work independently in the field and conduct regular client visits.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken Business English. Chinese language proficiency is a plus.

  • Fluency in Yoruba and/or Igbo is preferred. Proficiency in WhatsApp, email, Microsoft Excel, and other standard office software.

  • Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, quotation preparation, and contract coordination. Result-oriented with the ability to work under pressure; capable of meeting sales targets and performance assessment requirements.

  • Honest, trustworthy, and highly professional; possesses a keen awareness of commercial and credit risks.

  • Able to identify fraudulent customers and potential trade scams; willing and able to collaborate effectively with international teams across time zones.

  • Preferred Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates with the following qualifications are preferred:

  • B2B sales experience in construction materials, concrete admixtures (experience selling water reducers or mortar grouts is a plus), chemical raw materials, or chemical product imports. Established business relationships with ready-mix concrete plants, precast manufacturers, contractors, engineering firms, building material wholesalers, or large-scale importers. A proven track record in developing distributors, project-based clients, and bulk-purchase customers.

  • In-depth understanding of local competitors, market pricing, and industry payment practices.

  • Basic technical knowledge of chemical products and polycarboxylate-based water reducers. Ability to interpret Technical Data Sheets (TDS), test reports, and other product-related technical documents. Access to resources such as construction industry exhibitions, trade associations, or relevant promotional channels. Ability to coordinate customer trials, sample testing, and basic on-site technical communication.

  • Salary and Benefits
