Core Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Acquisition:
- Expand the Sending Network: Identify, pitch, and secure commercial partnerships with global Money Transfer Operators (MTOs), digital wallets, and financial technology platforms in key remittance sending corridors (US, UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific).
- Payout Network Expansion: Negotiate and establish strong relationships with local commercial banks, switching companies, switching aggregators, and mobile money operators to expand our domestic remittance payout touchpoints.
- End-to-End Deal Execution: Lead the entire business development lifecycle, from initial market research and cold outreach to commercial negotiation, contract finalization, and integration kickoff.
Relationship & Corridor Management:
- Volume & Revenue Growth: Manage relationships with existing partners to continuously optimize transaction volumes, improve processing success rates, and maximize inbound remittance flows.
- Corridor Pricing & Campaign Strategy: Monitor inbound remittance corridors to analyze competitor pricing, FX margins, and market trends. Design co-marketing campaigns with global partners to incentivize customer adoption.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance:
- Regulatory Alignment: Work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensure all incoming corridors and partner onboarding protocols strictly adhere to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) IMTO guidelines, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT) regulations.
- Technical Integration Support: Partner with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure fast, seamless API integrations with newly signed global MTOs.
Required Qualifications & Experience

- Experience: 5–7 years of proven business development or strategic partnerships experience within the FinTech, Cross-Border Payments, Remittance, or Banking sector.
- IMTO Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the international remittance ecosystem, corresponding banking networks, FX mechanics, and digital payment infrastructure.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Solid understanding of sub-Saharan African financial regulations, particularly CBN regulations guiding IMTO operations in Nigeria.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Negotiation & Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to structure complex legal and financial contracts, handle FX revenue-share negotiations, and close high-value B2B deals.
- Global Outlook & Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of managing relationships with international corporate executives across different time zones.
- Data-Driven Execution: Ability to analyze remittance volume trends, corridor metrics, and market share data to make informed strategic pivots.
