Job title: Business Development Manager - Data Mine Program
About the Role This role ensures the daily function of operations and services related to assigned programs and initiatives. It also helps establish and manage a strong corporate sales pipeline for the Data Mine program, related training programs, and events, while collaborating with leadership to develop strategic partnerships and revenue growth.
What You'll Do
- Coordinates daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of the programs and services, communicating with supervisor and staff as needed to achieve goals.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with policies; ensure timely communication with supervisor, staff, and students.
- Identify, qualify, and close potential opportunities for corporate-related activities and strategic initiatives.
- Develop relationships with industry, government, non-profit agencies, and economic development organizations to advance the College's mission.
- Collaborate with leadership to formulate strategic growth plans and secure new revenue sources.
- Champion opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally; work with teams to develop new business, maintain client relationships, and create new products/models aligned with division objectives.
- Demonstrate knowledge of offering areas, industry trends, buyer personas, and funding opportunities; use presentations to promote the College.
- Conduct formal negotiations and administer client agreements with guidance as needed; provide pipeline updates and reports.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and targeted events to generate leads; assist with coordinating special events and promotions.
- Stay informed of developments and participate in staff development; attend meetings and trainings.
- Assist with training new hires and perform other duties as assigned; may supervise student employees; reports to the Executive Director, STEM Professional Services.
- Travel as needed; Work Schedule typically Monday through Friday; evenings and weekends as needed.
- Equipment Operated: Computer and standard office equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; one or more years of related experience; and a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of university policies and procedures, office practices, department/division goals, workplace safety, English grammar, records management, and office management; strong client service orientation; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; capable of working independently and in a team; ability to train or instruct others; ability to gather data, prepare reports, and maintain records; strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary work; able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline; knowledge of job search strategies, labor market supply/demand, and employer recruitment methodologies; knowledge of university academic policies; familiarity with National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) career competencies and best practices; leadership experience.
