Job title: Business Development Manager - Atlanta
About the Role Under general supervision, the Business Development Manager will aggressively market the J.B. Hunt brand to develop new accounts and secure an established customer base, evaluating customers' transportation needs and proposing custom JB Hunt solutions. The role targets mid-level to high-revenue accounts with complex requirements.
What You'll Do
- Conduct lead generation with a strong focus on cold calling and in-person meetings; leverage networking as appropriate.
- Identify and secure new customer relationships through strategic, consultative selling; manage a dynamic pipeline, meet with prospects to understand needs, develop tailored solutions, and close deals.
- Regularly travel to prospective customers to present and build rapport with key stakeholders.
- Facilitate contract negotiations and pricing discussions aligned with company goals and client expectations.
- Stay informed of industry trends and adjust sales strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations highlighting value propositions to decision-makers.
- Coordinate with internal teams and the customer to implement the solution, including participation in kickoff.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED; 2-3 years of Sales, Account Management, or relevant experience, with at least 1 year of North American Truckload experience.
- Demonstrated skills in accuracy/detail orientation, effective communications, trust-building, adaptability, problem solving, knowledge of products/services, and sales closing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field; 2-3 years of relevant experience with at least one year NA truckload.
