About this role

At Align Technology, makers of Invisalign clear aligners, we transform people’s lives through brighter smiles and are revolutionizing dental practices with our digital-first solutions. We are continuously exploring new ways to make our products more accessible to customers and patients while creating new opportunities for sustainable growth.

We are looking for a Business Development & Innovation Manager, EMEA – FinTech & Growth Solutions to join our EMEA Business Innovation & Services team.

Based in Birmingham with an EMEA-wide remit, you will help identify, develop and bring to market new commercial growth opportunities. Your initial focus will be on patient financing and Invisalign Pay - solutions that improve affordability and support treatment conversion across UK and other European markets.

We are looking for someone with a strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset who is comfortable taking opportunities from initial idea and business case through partner selection, pilot, launch and ultimately scale.

Over time, your remit will extend beyond patient financing into other strategic growth opportunities, making this an exciting role for someone who enjoys building new propositions and working in an international, fast-moving environment.

Role expectations

  • Develop and scale innovative patient financing solutions, including Invisalign Pay, across EMEA
  • Identify and assess new commercial opportunities, developing robust business cases to determine their potential value and viability
  • Identify, evaluate and engage potential financing/FinTech and other strategic partners, leading commercial discussions and negotiations.
  • Take new initiatives from concept through pilot, launch and scale, working closely with local markets and regional teams
  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across areas such as Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology, Marketing and country/regional leadership to move initiatives forward
  • Define success metrics, monitor results and use insights to refine propositions and determine opportunities for further expansion
  • Support the development of additional commercial growth initiatives, potentially including subscriptions, patient access partnerships, new products and new-market opportunities
  • Help transition proven concepts to regional or local teams for ongoing execution and scale

What we're looking for

We're looking for a commercially-minded and entrepreneurial professional who combines strategic thinking with the ability to get things done.

You could come from FinTech, payments, point-of-sale financing, BNPL, consumer lending, embedded finance, financial services environments where you held business development/partnership, project-management or commercial responsibilities. We also welcome applications from candidates with similar backgrounds in other industries, with emphasis on modern digital/AI-first approaches, as well as management consultants.

You will ideally bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience, including experience within FinTech, consumer financing or a related commercial environment
  • Experience developing and managing commercial and strategic partnerships
  • The ability to build a compelling business case and translate an opportunity into an actionable commercial plan
  • Experience and project-management chops to take projects or propositions beyond strategy into implementation and launch
  • Strong analytical and commercial thinking with the ability to assess new business opportunities
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders and functions in a complex international organisation
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to influence without relying on formal authority
  • An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset and comfort working in areas where the playbook may not yet exist.
  • The flexibility and curiosity to work across different commercial innovation topics
  • International experience and working proficiency in European languages a strong plus
  • Willing to travel up to 25%

What will make you successful

What matters is your ability to spot an opportunity, understand the economics behind it, build the right partnerships and turn an idea into something that works commercially.

You will enjoy this role if you are naturally curious, comfortable challenging established ways of doing things and motivated by building something new. You should be equally comfortable developing a business case, engaging an external partner and working internally across functions to get a pilot successfully launched.

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to work on high-impact EMEA growth initiatives with exposure across markets and functions.

You'll join a team whose mission is to incubate new commercial growth opportunities, demonstrate their potential and create new revenue streams, partnering with regional teams and setting them up for success as they take successful initiatives into scaled rollouts.

The role starts with a clear commercial challenge around patient financing but offers the opportunity to broaden into other areas of business innovation as new opportunities emerge.
