Job Description

  • We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Executive to join our team in Gwarimpa, Abuja.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with key accounts and stakeholders within the educational sector.
  • Identify and engage prospective clients through market scanning, cold calls, referrals, networking, and other business development activities.
  • Drive revenue growth by implementing effective sales strategies and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ needs and proactively identify opportunities to provide relevant educational products and services.
  • Manage communications between key clients and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of client requests, issues, and complaints.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients in line with company guidelines and maintain an accurate and up-to-date client database.
  • Maintain a healthy lead generation pipeline and consistently follow up on prospective and existing clients to drive conversion and retention.
  • Respond promptly to Requests for Quotations (RFQs), tenders, and other customer enquiries, ensuring accurate and competitive submissions.
  • Educate clients on the company’s products and services and provide guidance on product usage to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of products and services in line with customer specifications and agreed timelines.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback, product concerns, and service issues to relevant internal stakeholders and support timely resolution.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure adequate stock availability and seamless fulfilment of customer requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, product developments and competitor activities, and provide insights to inform sales and procurement decisions.
  • Support stock forecasting and replenishment by monitoring supply and demand to minimise stock-outs and overstocking.
  • Evaluate vendor and supplier offers and support negotiations to achieve competitive and profitable purchase prices.
  • Monitor account performance, sales activities and business development opportunities, providing relevant updates and insights to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree / HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Education, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience in business development, sales, key account management, or a related role.
  • Experience in the education sector, institutional sales, or B2B sales is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of business development, lead generation, sales management, and client relationship management.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and opportunities effectively.
  • Commercial mindset with a proven ability to identify opportunities, drive sales, and contribute to revenue growth.
