Role Overview

Business Architect – Nonprofit in the USA or Canada

Cloud for Good is seeking a Business Architect to lead business analysis and solution design on Salesforce implementations for nonprofit organizations. You will be the bridge between what a client needs and what the platform can do: running discovery, shaping the solution, and making sure what the team builds delivers measurable results for the client’s mission.

You will be responsible for designing scalable Salesforce solutions that align business processes, platform capabilities, and client objectives. Typical projects include solutions built on/with Nonprofit Cloud, Sales, Service, and

Experience

  • Cloud, Flow, Experience Sites, and AppExchange applications that extend the Salesforce Platform. You will partner with Solution Architects, developers, and configurators, and work alongside the Project Manager to keep delivery on track.

  • Location: Virtual: Home-based office in the US or Canada

Requirements

  • Required

  • Salesforce Administrator and Nonprofit Cloud Consultant certifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce implementation experience across multiple organizations and clouds

  • Lead business analyst and lead solution designer on at least one Salesforce implementation over $1M

  • Extensive hands-on configuration experience, including building Flows, with strong data model and solution design skills

  • Experience leading discovery, gathering requirements, and writing user stories in an Agile delivery environment

  • Knowledge of Salesforce products, features, and platform limits for solution design

  • Understanding of Salesforce environment management, deployment processes, and release coordination (Gearset experience a plus)

  • Knowledge of nonprofit business processes such as gift processing, accounting, moves management, and program management

  • Strong consulting skills, including clear written and verbal communication, presentation, and time management

  • Preferred

  • Nonprofit Cloud implementation experience

  • Experience migrating clients from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, documentation quality, and delivery efficiency

  • Salesforce Solution Architect specialization certifications

  • Working knowledge of Apex or Lightning Web Components (development not required)

  • Experience designing integrations with payment processors, marketing tools, or finance systems

  • Hands-on experience with Agentforce or other Salesforce AI features

Key Responsibilities

  • Discover and Define

  • Lead the business analysis and solution design for 1–2 concurrent Salesforce implementations

  • Facilitate productive discovery sessions with large stakeholder groups, keeping conversations on track to meet session goals

  • Visualize and diagram complex business processes in a format every stakeholder can understand and act on

  • Develop and leverage user personas to inform solution design, prioritization, and user adoption strategies

  • Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed proposed solutions

  • Design the Solution

  • Translate client goals and business strategy into scalable Salesforce solutions, including data models and processes that support multiple user groups and organizational objectives

  • Analyze and redesign business processes to improve efficiency, usability, and organizational outcomes

  • Partner with the Solution Architect, developers, and configurators to choose the right approach for each requirement

  • Support data migration mapping and reporting needs so clients can measure their impact from day one

  • Align Stakeholders

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and build alignment across business, technical, and executive audiences throughout the project lifecycle

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders through reliability, transparency, and proactive communication

  • Evaluate and communicate the impact of changing requirements and guide stakeholders through scope and priority decisions

  • Support the Project Manager and client product owner in prioritizing the backlog

  • Deliver and Demonstrate

  • Design and deliver compelling sprint demonstrations that connect user needs, delivered functionality, and business outcomes

  • Validate delivered solutions against business requirements and acceptance criteria

  • Support UAT planning and execution by defining business test scenarios, validating coverage against requirements, facilitating office hours and defect triage, and partnering with project teams to drive user adoption and solution readiness.

  • Support training and change management so solutions are adopted, not just delivered

  • Grow the Practice

  • Mentor Business Analysts and facilitate knowledge sharing and growth opportunities

  • Stay current on Nonprofit Cloud and Salesforce capabilities

  • Contribute to Cloud for Good’s delivery methodology and share ideas with leadership on how we can improve

  • Travel Requirements

  • All roles at Cloud for Good include a travel component. Business travel—both domestic and international—may be required based on project and client needs. The amount of travel will vary by role but is generally expected to be up to 30% annually. Travel is considered an essential part of this position and supports effective client engagement, collaboration, and company representation.

  • Work Environment

  • Cloud for Good is a fully remote company. Team members are expected to maintain a professional, distraction-free workspace that is camera-ready for video meetings. Collaboration takes place across Zoom, Office 365, Salesforce, and Slack during standard business hours (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone).

  • Client Time Zone Alignment

  • As a team member, you may be required to adjust your work hours to align with your key client’s time zone to support effective communication, collaboration, and project delivery. Flexibility and coordination with your Project Lead (Services) will help ensure success in this client-facing role.
