About the Role
The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an experienced business analyst to join the Automated Trial Court Services Unit (ATCSU). The role involves business analysis, requirements gathering, workflow analysis, development of project plans, user interface design, system testing and user training to support large-scale Judiciary IT projects. You will collaborate with court case processing managers, information technology staff and other stakeholders to plan and implement IT solutions that improve services for the public.
What You'll Do
- Writing specifications for new applications and enhancements
- Recommending process and design changes for case management systems
- Analyzing business procedures, workflows, policies and standards to identify IT solutions for the business community
- Creating and managing project requirements including milestones and schedules; formulating reports to track progress
- Defining and documenting customer business functions and processes
- Acting as a liaison between stakeholders and software development teams
- Communicating and collaborating with internal and external customers to analyze information needs and prepare business requirements documents (UI designs, screen-flow diagrams, wireframes & UI specification documentation)
- Developing test scripts and performing testing across multiple platforms
- Coordinating regularly with ITO and business users
- Designing and conducting presentations and training sessions for internal and external customers (including judges, court staff, attorneys and other governmental entities)
- Conducting interviews to research work methods and processes
- Planning, organizing and facilitating meetings or site visits with primary stakeholders
- Providing helpdesk and on-site user support
- Performing other related duties as required
- The selected candidate may be required to work a non-traditional work week, including weekends and holidays.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field (e.g., information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity) and one year of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems/applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, WANs/LANs OR generating and maintaining system software OR business analysis (defining and gathering requirements, analyzing and validating data and/or documenting test plans) OR business analytics OR data analytics
- Substitution: additional paraprofessional/professional IT experience or related IT experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis (30 semester hour credits per year replaced by one year of such experience)
- Experience with all stages of the SDLC, PEGA and Agile methodology is preferred
- The role requires strong communication and training skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders including judges, court staff and attorneys
- The selected candidate may be assigned a non-traditional work week

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary ranges: $72,027.61 to $122,100.38 (Schedule A) and $72,027.61 to $115,995.38 (Schedule B). For newly hired individuals, starting at the minimum of the range. For current Judiciary employees, 5% raise on promotion/advancement
- Hybrid work schedule up to 3 days remote per week; requires MFA app on phone/tablet and high-speed home internet access
