Job title: Building Services Engineer
About the Role Carter Synergy is recruiting Building Services Engineers nationwide across Mechanical, Air Conditioning, Heating, Electrical or Gas specialisations. The role focuses on reactive and pre-planned maintenance to ensure permanent fixes, with root cause feedback and analysis to deliver excellent service and customer communication.
What You'll Do
- Carry out all maintenance tasks as scheduled to a satisfactory standard as directed by Service Desk to customer specification and in-house target levels in accordance with SOPs.
- Undertake reactive works issued through the Service Desk within set time frames to meet customer expectations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in plant and equipment; advise Customer, Supervisors & Account Managers of repairs per SOPs.
- Maintain high workmanship; leave work areas clean and tidy.
- Complete necessary paperwork, in-store/e-based systems and administration in real-time (same day).
- Update all job details on a PDA in real-time.
- Liaise with Stores/Service Desk to order parts when stocks are depleted or specialist parts are required.
- Monitor van stock levels to maintain a high first-fix percentage.
- Take a proactive approach to client liaison and relay concerns to management as appropriate.
- Work from drawings and specifications without direct supervision.
- Promote the Company professionally at all times.
- If assigned a trainee, mentor and coach them to progress their competence and career development.
- Communicate to supervisors and account team to obtain quotes for additional work outside of the contract.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in Building Services specialisations: Mechanical, Air Conditioning, Heating, Electrical, Gas.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Current qualifications relevant to the job specialisation.
Nice to Have
- Experience mentoring or coaching trainees (if applicable).
