Job title: Building Design Project Leader
About the Role The Building Design Project Leader is responsible for the design development and integration of all Building activities on the Ras Laffan project, reporting to PEM or the Plant Design Manager, and coordinating with other Engineers, Specialists and Draftsmen to ensure harmonized delivery. He/she leads detailed design activities related to procurement, construction and commissioning of the Buildings as requested by the Head of Department.
Key details: starting date 1 November 2024; rotation of 60 days on site, 10 days off (paid) and 2 days traveling (paid).
What You'll Do
- Guarantee the quality of documentation for all Building disciplines in accordance with project requirements, budget, and schedule.
- Prepare and discuss with the Project Team and Head of Department the execution strategy and schedule, and ensure implementation throughout the project life.
- For specialized topics, be supported by Group Leaders; coordinate with other Project Leaders and engineering centers to harmonize processes and tools.
- Supervise multidisciplinary Building activities and critical engineering cycles within budget and schedule.
- Report to PEM or Plant Design Manager on status, planning and issues; interact with Client representatives and Vendors on technical topics affecting time and cost.
- Provide assistance to inspection and construction departments as needed; cooperate to prepare and maintain project procedures, guidelines and standards aligned with Company standards and contractual requirements.
- Support Group Leaders and Head of Department in maintaining standards, procedures and operative instructions; stay up-to-date on the discipline to improve coordination and design capability and transfer knowledge to colleagues.
What We're Looking For
- University degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (or equivalent).
- Significant experience in the industrial construction of large or XL gas plants; prior coverage of a similar role in at least 2-3 projects of comparable size.
- 12-18 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; strong management and teamwork abilities; self-motivation and focus on timely delivery and problem resolution.
- Special requirements: attention to detail and good management skills.
