About the Role California Baptist University's Communication Arts Department seeks qualified individuals for its Broadcast and Digital Media and Journalism part-time adjunct pool. Openings to teach courses develop on a periodic basis depending on department teaching needs. This may include courses such as Writing for Mass Media, Broadcast and Video Production, Media and Society, and Sports Writing, as well as courses across related disciplines.
What You'll Do
- Teach courses in broadcast and digital media production and journalism as assigned, and develop new course material as needed.
- Contribute to course development and instructional planning based on department needs.
- Support, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students, while upholding the mission and standards of the university.
- Integrate Christian faith and learning into teaching where appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- A master's degree in an appropriate field or a bachelor's degree with significant related professional experience.
- Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, and current developments in broadcasting, media, and journalism.
- Demonstrated ability to support, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
- Higher education teaching experience preferred.
- Commitment to the mission of California Baptist University and to excellence in teaching through integration of Christian faith and learning.
Nice to Have
- Higher education teaching experience is preferred.
