Section: About the Role Escrow-Tech Nigeria Limited (ETNL) is seeking an experienced Brand Strategist to define the positioning, messaging, and market perception of OhmFlex, its energy management platform, before design and campaign work begins.
OhmFlex integrates with existing wiring to control appliances that drive electricity bills, including air conditioning, water heaters, lighting, and sockets. Customers can track energy spending by room, appliance, or branch and receive monthly reports showing what they spent, saved, and wasted.
The initial target market is mid-range hotels across Lagos and other major Nigerian cities, followed by offices, banks, churches, retail businesses, and homes.
The successful candidate will define what OhmFlex stands for, shape how customers understand the product, and guide the direction of the design, sales, and content teams.
Section: Key Responsibilities
- Interview customers, prospects, field sales staff, and leadership to understand how OhmFlex is bought, used, and discussed.
- Define the brand positioning, target audience, value proposition, and differentiation from alternatives such as generators, inverters, and competing energy products.
- Develop the core brand story, key messages, and tone of voice for hotel owners, general managers, and engineers.
- Establish standards for customer touchpoints, including packaging, installation, proposals, the app, brochures, and sales conversations.
- Brief and guide the design team and content creators to ensure all work reflects the agreed brand positioning.
- Advise on the brand experience for the OhmFlex product launch and related communications.
- Equip the sales team with effective messaging for presenting product value and handling price objections.
Section: Requirements
- Proven experience in brand strategy or positioning, with at least two brands repositioned.
- Experience with B2B, technology, or service brands. Consumer and fashion experience alone is not sufficient.
- Research-led approach, with a willingness to listen to customers before making recommendations.
- Ability to translate strategy into clear, practical guidance for designers and sales teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership.
- Understanding of the Nigerian market.
- Knowledge of hospitality, energy, or property is an advantage.
