About the Role Lead and manage all aspects of Luther College’s men’s and women’s bowling programs, including coaching, recruitment, budgeting, and student-athlete development. This exempt, .4 FTE position partners with the Director of Athletics to advance NCAA Division III athletics values and elevate program success. What You'll Do
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the men’s and women’s bowling programs, including planning, organizing, and coaching.
- Collaborate with the Director of Athletics to establish competitive schedules and coordinate team travel.
- Support student-athletes through academic, disciplinary, and personal advising; engage with campus partners and faculty as appropriate.
- Hire, train, and supervise assistant coaches and student managers.
- Manage the operating budget for the bowling programs with fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Lead a comprehensive, strategic recruitment plan to attract student-athletes who will thrive at Luther College.
- Develop and implement retention strategies with athletic department staff and campus partners.
- Promote and uphold the philosophy, values, and objectives of NCAA Division III athletics and adhere to institutional policies.
- Attend and participate in athletic department meetings, head coach meetings, and other institutional meetings as assigned.
- Provide positive, responsive, professional communication and service to students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and campus/community partners.
- Perform additional administrative duties within the athletics department based on strengths and departmental needs. What We're Looking For
- Education: Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree required (combination of education and professional experience will be considered).
- Experience: Previous collegiate bowling coaching and recruiting experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college.
- Strong communication, organizational leadership, and interpersonal skills. Nice to Have
- Experience in NCAA Division III athletics environment.
- Budgeting, travel coordination, and team administration experience. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $15,100 - $20,200 USD for 0.4 FTE; Exempt.
