About the Role
Join the Boston Teachers Union Organizing Internship, a two-year program in Boston, MA, designed to teach you organizing skills from the ground up in service of education justice. The cohort starts in May and welcomes applicants for this year and next year. You’ll learn to organize people to defend rights and to support campaigns centered on low-income students and families; experience with children/youth and urban settings is valued. What You'll Do

Learn foundational organizing methods and campaigns with BTU

Build organizing capacity among teachers, educators, and communities

Support campaigns centering low-income students and families

Coordinate outreach, events, and communications; be available for evenings and weekends as needed

Prepare to work in the Boston area starting in July; May-July work may be remote What We're Looking For

Interest in education justice and unions

Experience in K-12 education or considering it; experience with children/youth strongly preferred

Urban setting experience a plus

A BA is helpful but not necessary

Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
