Bookkeeper

We are looking for a dependable Bookkeeper to join our team in Onalaska, Wisconsin in a fully onsite role. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping financial records accurate, supporting day-to-day accounting activity, and working closely with both internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate brings practical bookkeeping experience, solid Excel skills, and a proactive approach to managing recurring tasks with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Examine incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation before processing

• Record electronic billing and payment information in accounting systems with a high level of precision

• Maintain accounts payable activities, including tracking due dates and helping ensure timely vendor payments

• Support accounts receivable and general bookkeeping functions as needed to keep financial records current

• Communicate with vendors to address invoice questions, resolve discrepancies, and confirm account details

• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with routine balancing of financial transactions

• Help monitor inventory-related accounting entries and maintain organized supporting records

• Partner with colleagues across departments to gather information and keep daily financial workflows moving efficiently

• At least 1 year of bookkeeping or related accounting experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic bookkeeping practices

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate transaction records

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete tasks reliably

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with team members and vendors
