Job title: BOD Process Engineer
About the Role Corning is seeking a BOD Process Engineer in Hefei, China to provide day-to-day problem solving support to production and development, assist process development and optimization, and lead data analysis for process decisions. This role supports new technology migrations and ensures quality and reliability of production processes within Corning's Display Technologies segment.
What You'll Do
- Provides day-to-day problem solving support to production and development.
- Functions as a team member on focused projects in Corning.
- Supports process development and optimization efforts.
- Provides troubleshooting to process and equipment issues, identifies root causes and corrective actions.
- Supports new technology migration through equipment installation, process optimization and documentation.
- Assists with data analysis for key process engineering decisions (experiments, development, etc.).
- Ensures quality and reliability of process and production.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or other engineering-related field.
- 2 years’ work experience preferred.
- Process engineering skills with quantitative ability; coursework in engineering statistics or statistical training; familiarity with design of experiments concept and methodology.
- Proficient in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing) and able to communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to utilize computer programs and statistics for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong project management, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Basic digital knowledge.
Nice to Have
- Project management experience.
- Understanding of equipment mechanical and control concepts.
- Experience implementing DMAIC or leading Six Sigma projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication in English and Chinese.
- Technical writing; ability to present to operators, engineers and managers.
- Familiar with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; experience in equipment design, automation/system integration.
- Experience on digital transformation projects.
